We found a two-bedroom apartment about a mile from the school to rent for a year while we're getting to know the city. I think it'll be hard for me to get used to going from my lovely 1800 sq ft house here in Arkansas to an apartment. Mostly, I'm going to miss my kitchen. The lovely granite and all those cabinets....I'm bumming myself out so I must move on.
Being as the apartment is so close, we're considering getting a scooter. We had a Piaggio scooter a couple of years ago that we loved, loved, loved. It was so fun and convenient. Plus, I went through all the motorcycle training/safety stuff to ride it. Thus, it was painful to sell it, but a necessary evil as our current house is not in a area that is very scoot-able (is that a word; now it is!). Here's me with my scooter.
Amazing! I wasn't one of those dorky scooter riders; I was cool and everyone was jealous. At least that's what I tell myself. I rode it to school in nice weather. It was so nice. ANYWAY, we'd like to get one for Findlay (it'd be a new thing for that town, that I can tell), but we're afraid that the winters will be too long to make it practical. If we can only use it for a few months, then it's not worth it. We'll have to take this first year to evaluate if a scooter is doable. Thoughts?
