Behind Curtain #1 is...A BRAND NEW CAR!

Garrett and I have been talking about getting another car before we leave for Ohio.  We planned to sell our lovely, gold Taurus and get something that will last us for a good long while.  Being the children of used car dealers, we both have never had a nice car that we know will last and be dependable.  I think at one point I was driving a new car ever month.  Fun! you might be saying.  No, not fun.  Especially when some of those cars are big ole duds.  ANYWAY...

We've looked into several cars, but have always leaned towards a Subaru because of their great ratings; those cars last forever.  Now that moving is less than a month away, we felt we could start seriously looking for and test driving cars (we want to register the car in Ohio so we don't have to do it twice).  Well, today was the day!  Today we got the itch to get-to-drivin'.  With Brittney in tow (she was there for the back seat perspective), we drove to the Subaru dealership in Fayetteville.  We knew the Fayetteville store had a model we liked: a Sage Green Subaru Forester (sigh).  We test drove the Premium model, of course, and it was great; we were immediately sold.  By the time we said goodbye to the dealer I was thinking, "I need the all-weather package," and "How will I be able to live without splash guards?!"  Even with my sudden "needs" we had no intention of buying the Premium package, and I had no idea what splash guards were, but we knew a Forester was for us.

Off to Starbucks we went to pick through other dealerships to find "the deal."  After some searching, we found a great deal in Oklahoma City on the base model Forester.  We willing to hop in the Taurus and head to OKC.  In fact, I was seconds from dialing my aunt's number saying we were headed their way.  BUT, we really wanted to see if the Fayetteville store was willing to match the OKC price before we started our road trip.

After some calls and a trip to Kohl's with Brittney (I needed to get away while Garrett wheeled and dealed), I was tired and ready for dinner.  I called Garrett to say I was taking us out to eat, and one of the first things he said was, "We need to go to the Subaru store because I just bought the one in Fayetteville."  WHAT?!  I couldn't believe it was that easy, and that he had done the deal.  This is one of the many moments where I was happy to be the receiver of my husband's good judgement and fast decision making skills.  Thus, we hopped in the car, and went to get our Forester.  It took no time; Garrett and I were both surprised at how easy it was to walk away so quickly with such a purchase.

I'm super excited!  I don't have any pictures right now, but I will take some today and post them for all to drool over.  Happy reading!
